Appropriated by faith in “the One who, according to the Easter story, goes through closed doors,”9 this doctrine enables us to break through the closed doors of a jaded, mute secularism and of a sub-Christian sacred-secular dualism in order to begin to see the world for what it really is—namely, the creation in which, as Gerard Manley Hopkins pointed out, Christ plays in ten thousand places.
